Chelsea received two awards at this special evening. The first award was for "Outstanding Achievement in Art." This award was a real surprise, since this was the only art course that she ever took. The other award was the "Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence." This was signed by the President of the United States. She qualified for this award by maintaining a 3.8 grade point average over her three years at Goddard Middle School, and also scoring above average in Math and English on California State exams.
