Morro Bay is a picturesque seaside fishing village with a backdrop of the famous Morro Rock. The locals sometimes call it "3 stacks and a rock" for the 3 smokestakes and the Morro Rock as pictured to the right. It is an wildlife estuary with boating, beaches, hiking, and many other activities. Our highlight of our visit was a glass bottom boat tour of the bay.
The glass bottom boat excursion was the perfect way to appreciate and learn about the wildlife of Morro Bay. There were sea lions, otters, and even a lone baby whale that we spotted in the bay. The fog was just lifting when we departed on our tour.
