New York City
March-April 2011

Sunday morning began with an unexpected parade of New York's finest down Fifth Ave. We could hear the bagpipes as we approached Fifth Ave. The NYPD was headed for St. Patrick's Cathedral for the annual mass of the Catholic Police Officers.
Sunday was our last full day in the city.  My cousin, Jill, from NJ spent the day with us.  We took the subway all the way to the northern tip of Manhattan to visit The Cloisters, which is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The Cloisters houses a collection of Medieval Art.  The museum is located in Fort Tryon with beautiful views of the Hudson River. We stopped to see the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, which is the largest church in the country. It is approximately the size of 2 football fields!  The grand finale of the day was seeing Chelsea perform at Carnegie Hall.
