On our last full day, the family traveled to Squamish, B.C. to see Shannon Falls. Plummeting a spectacular 335 metres (1,105 feet), Shannon Falls is the third tallest fall in British Columbia. The park is just off the highway and has a nice picnic area and a short, easy hike to the base of the falls. Just 350m (1100 feet) each way, the Shannon Falls Trail meanders along the base of the falls through old growth Douglas Fir, Hemlock and Western Red Cedar. There are viewpoints along the way and even an opportunity to walk into the boulders at the base of Shannon Creek.
Cypress Provincial Park, famous for the Cypress Mountain ski resort, is located on Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver. It was one of the sites of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The towering north shore mountains form a backdrop to the bustling city of Vancouver.  On a clear day the views are spectacular!
Ambleside Beach was our last stop as the sun was setting.  It is located a short drive down from Cypress Mountain in West vancouver.
