Cynthia and I met our friends, Tim and Diana, from Chicago in Amsterdam to kick off a 7 day tour that included: 2 nights in Amsterdam, a half day in Brussels, one night in Bruges, and 2 nights in Paris. The tour included breakfast, some dinners, coach transportation between cities, and a tour guide. The weather was cold and wet with some snow when we started in Amsterdam. It improved in Belgium and was pleasant in Paris.
After checking into our hotel, we hurried over to the Rijksmuseum which was located a couple of blocks away. It is the national museum of the Netherlands. The museum features Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh and other Dutch Masters. The building is a combination of Gothic and Renaissance styles.
Tim and Diana joined us for the welcome dinner at our hotel in Amsterdam. Our group had 38 people. It was an interesting group of couples, families, and work friends from various parts of the U.S.
