Volendam and Windmill Tour
Volendam is an old fishing village located on a fresh water lake that was once part of the Zuiderzee. The windmill is an all wood structure that can pump a swimming pool amount of water with every rotation.
We strolled the streets near our hotel, stopping to have Dutch Apple Pie, peruse the high-end stores, enjoy the beautiful flower stands, and brave the cold wintry weather.
Everyone rides a bike in Amsterdam. There are more bicycles than people!
We enjoyed fresh fish for lunch and Dutch pancakes for dessert.
