Our third day took us on a journey through the Northern California Redwoods to the city of Arcata to see Cynthia's niece, Melanie. She graduated from Humboldt University, which is now part of Cal Poly. She continues to live and work in the area.
We continued on our trip along the Northern California Coast, through the Redwoods and into Oregon to Roseburg for the night. We stopped at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State and National Park for a picnic lunch among the towering redwoods.
Early the next morning we drove to the Columbia River Gorge and the many waterfalls in the area including the very popular Multnomah Falls before driving to Portland.
